Amazon Prime Day: Kitchen Upgrades

I love a good sale and Amazon Prime Day makes the hunt for one easy. In this season of my life, I’m updating and upgrading the kitchen items I’ve had for over a decade. My knife block is a Martha Stewart set that I got at Macy’s just after college! Below you’ll find some of the deals I’m taking advantage of today.

  1. My kitchen is old: like 1964 old with wood the faux wood paneling that people used to cover cracked plaster. To update the kitchen in a way that we would really like it requires an addition that we have been plotting for years. Since we aren’t quite there I wanted to add a tile backsplash behind the stove but you can’t do that with the faux wood paneling. These Art3d 10-Sheet Peel and Stick Backsplash instantly gave the room an upgrade! When my wife arrived home from work she requested that we add them under the cabinets as well. I will share photos when the project is complete!

2. I have been lusting after this Technivorm Moccamaster since I first laid eyes on her. I am torn between the pistachio color and beetroot, although, neither matches my sky-blue kitchen they would certainly be nice morning eye candy!

3. We transitioned to glass containers a zillion years ago to avoid plastic leaching and BPA. Cut to current day and we have a lot of “extra” or “missing lids.” (Seriously, where do they go?) This prime day I’m upgrading to these mint colored Glass Food Storage Containers

4. Okay, I may be inviting some hate my way but you don’t need an overpriced Yeti or Stanley travel mug. These Contigo Stainless Steel Travel Mugs are my family’s absolute favorite. They’re easy to drink out of when you’re commuting to work and they don’t leak!

5. Do you have a window sill above your sink? These Silicone Soap and Sponge Trays are the most perfect size to set things up there to dry without ruining the wood on your window!

6. I’m almost embarrassed to say how old my utensil tray organizer is (I believe it was purchased circa 2004)! So I’m going to be taking advantage of today’s sale by purchasing this Expandable Bamboo Utensil Tray.

7. Like I said earlier, my knife set is from my early 20’s. My mom has this WÜSTHOF 16 Piece Set and is really happy. It’s $200 dollars off in today’s sale! That said, I am still holding off for my dream Miyabi Kaizen Japanese Knife Set.

8. Have you ever regretted a big purchase? One of my biggest kitchen mistakes was trading my Calphalon for All-Clad…yes, seriously! I had Calphalon for years, it held up, still looked good, and didn’t stain easily. My experience with All-Clad has included a whole-lotta elbow grease and frustration at the constant discoloration. If I had it to do all over again I would invest in this 10-piece Calphalon Stainless Steel Pots and Pans Set
